Positioned with Belloq, Shliemann, and the Blond Driver, he tracks Indy in the captured truck cab with his submachine gun. On Shliemann's order, he fires to eliminate the Tough Sergeant advancing on Indy from the truck roof, then lowers his weapon upon seeing the sergeant line up his shot. His actions prioritize protecting convoy leaders and the Ark while responding to threats.
