Ala-eddin

Ala-eddin rules the Hashashins from a mountain castle, commanding a small band of fanatical assassins. He drugs followers with hashish, ferries them to a lush garden paradise filled with wine streams, jewels, and maidens, then returns them convinced paradise awaits after death. This deception breeds reckless killers who murder his enemies without fear. Hulagu besieges his lair for three years before his fall, ending years of terror across the land.
