Sailor began as a common seaman aboard the doomed vessel Mary Celeste, his terror laid bare when the Daleks stormed her hold, his plea for mercy swallowed by the clank of their advance. The sight of the mechanical marauders unmade him, driving him to desperate flight—only for the void to claim him as he dragged a Dalek into the depths with him. Decades later, his identity fractured across eras: first as a methodical naval observer monitoring the seafloor under crushing pressure, then as a hollow tool in the hands of the Master, his Royal Navy training repurposed into a hollow vessel of hypnotic obedience. Consciousness stripped, he moved like a marionette, body wrapped in webbing, fingers fused into crude implements, his voice stolen and his heart reduced to stasis. No longer flesh and memory, he became the Master’s silent sentinel, a living weapon sealed within a spacesuit, his humanity worn thin as the vacuum outside.
