Headsman (Masked Executioner)

The Headsman (also referred to as the Masked Headsman) is the designated executioner in Atlantis's Temple of Amdo, responsible for carrying out beheadings of condemned prisoners during religious rituals. He wields a large sword and operates under the direct authority of high priests such as Lolem and Ramo. His identity is obscured by a mask, symbolizing the temple's impersonal enforcement of tradition. Obedient and dutiful, he halts executions only when confronted with perceived divine intervention, reinforcing the priesthood's authority amid internal conflicts over scientific threats and societal survival.
