Oldsters

The Oldsters are a generational cohort within Paradise Towers who survived the war that claimed the In-betweens. They lived alongside the Youngsters as permanent residents while the In-betweens were sent to fight and never returned. By their own public labeling, they enforce social norms through ritual humiliation, evidenced when they chant 'scaredy-cat' at Pex in the Carrydoors. Their role as vocal critics of cowardice suggests they maintain a rigid hierarchical view of courage and survival.
