Death to the Daleks Part 1

The Doctor and Sarah Jane arrive on Exxilon, where they must evade hostile alien creatures and team up with a stranded MSC expedition to survive and potentially save the outer worlds from a deadly disease.

The Doctor and Sarah Jane materialize the TARDIS on the planet Exxilon, only to find it malfunctioning due to an unknown energy source. After exiting the TARDIS, they are attacked by the native Exxilons. The Doctor is captured but manages to escape, meeting a Marine Space Corps (MSC) expedition led by Captain Railton, who are stranded on the planet while searching for the rare chemical parrinium to cure a deadly disease afflicting the outer worlds. Sarah Jane, who had been separated from the Doctor, is captured by the Exxilons and sentenced to sacrifice. The MSC team receives a false hope of rescue when they believe a relief ship is arriving, but it is not clear if this will save them or if they can find a way to escape the planet with the parrinium.

Act 1

The narrative opens with the Doctor and Sarah Jane in a lighthearted mood, preparing for a relaxing trip to Florana. This domestic scene abruptly shatters as the TARDIS suffers a catastrophic power failure, crashing violently onto an unknown planet. The immediate aftermath reveals the TARDIS's energy banks are completely drained, leaving them stranded and without their primary means of escape. Their initial exploration of the desolate, fog-shrouded landscape quickly exposes a hostile environment characterized by petrified life forms and a pervasive cold. The Doctor deduces that an unknown, non-geological power source on the planet has caused the TARDIS's incapacitation, trapping them. As they attempt to survey their immediate surroundings, unseen indigenous life forms, the Exxilons, begin to stalk them. The situation rapidly deteriorates: the Doctor is ambushed and captured while investigating the terrain, and Sarah Jane, returning to the TARDIS for warmer clothing, finds herself cornered. Despite a desperate struggle, she is also overwhelmed by the Exxilons, leading to their separation and capture, marking a dramatic shift from initial bewilderment to immediate peril. The act concludes with both protagonists in the hands of the mysterious Exxilons, their fate uncertain.

Act 2

Following his capture, the Doctor skillfully escapes his Exxilon captors, using their own tools against them. He then stumbles upon a stranded Marine Space Corps (MSC) expedition, led by Captain Railton, who initially mistakes him for an enemy. After a tense introduction, the Doctor quickly integrates with the MSC team, learning the dire purpose of their mission: to find the rare chemical parrinium on Exxilon. This chemical is the only known cure for a devastating plague ravaging the outer worlds, threatening millions of lives, significantly raising the stakes beyond the Doctor's personal predicament. Meanwhile, Sarah Jane, having evaded her initial pursuers, discovers a beacon leading to a colossal, ancient white city. Her curiosity proves dangerous as she is recaptured by the Exxilons near this "forbidden city," a sacred site only priests may enter. The Exxilon Priest condemns Sarah Jane to sacrifice for her perceived desecration. Back at the MSC base, the team, including the Doctor, receives a sudden, exhilarating announcement: a relief ship has arrived. This unexpected development prompts the entire MSC team to abandon their base and rush towards the supposed landing site, leaving their injured behind and creating a critical diversion. The act culminates with Sarah Jane being prepared for a ritualistic sacrifice and the MSC team unknowingly rushing towards an uncertain encounter, leaving the Doctor and Sarah in parallel, escalating dangers.
