Planet of Evil Part 4

As a deadly alien entity spreads its antimatter-infected influence on a space probe, the crew must stop the monster and prevent catastrophe before it's too late.

The screenplay 'Planet of Evil - Part Four' unfolds as a desperate struggle for survival aboard a space probe contaminated with an alien entity from the planet Zeta Minor. The story begins with the crew facing critical system failures and casualties due to the entity's influence. As they try to understand and combat the threat, they discover that Professor Sorenson, a key scientist, has been infected with antimatter, transforming him into a monstrous being dubbed 'Antiman.' The crew, led by Vishinsky and Sarah, must navigate the treacherous situation while trying to find a cure and prevent the entity from taking over the entire ship. The Doctor, a mysterious and resourceful ally, plays a crucial role in containing the threat. He eventually manages to capture Sorenson and use the TARDIS to transport him to a planet's surface, where he is neutralized. The entity duplicates, creating multiple Antimen that threaten the ship, but the Doctor and the crew successfully contain and eliminate the threat. The screenplay explores themes of scientific responsibility, the dangers of unchecked ambition, and the resilience of humanity in the face of existential threats.

Act 1

The narrative opens with the immediate and violent escalation of the alien entity's threat aboard the space probe, as crewman Reig is brutally killed. This event precipitates a critical shift in leadership, with Vishinsky asserting command over the more erratic Salamar amidst the chaos. Simultaneously, the Doctor and Sarah escape their confinement, and Sarah's chilling realization that Professor Sorenson is the monstrous 'Antiman' due to an 'icy suction' she felt, is quickly confirmed by the Doctor. He explains Sorenson's antimatter infection, which is rapidly devolving him into a brute. Recognizing the dire situation, the Doctor instructs Sarah to secure the ship by closing all hatchways, aiming to isolate the spreading threat. Vishinsky, despite Salamar's objections and attempts to undermine his authority, heeds Sarah's warning about Sorenson and implements the lockdown. The Doctor then directly confronts Sorenson, revealing the catastrophic failure of his experimental 'vaccine' and the irreversible chemical changes transforming him. This confrontation underscores the theme of scientific responsibility. However, the situation takes a dangerous turn when Salamar, driven by a misguided sense of leadership and desperation, attempts to use a neutron accelerator against Sorenson, even shooting a guard to achieve his aim, setting the stage for a more volatile confrontation.

Act 2

Act Two plunges the crew into a desperate fight for survival as the consequences of Salamar's reckless actions unfold. Salamar, armed with the neutron accelerator, confronts the devolved Sorenson in the quarantine area, only to be overwhelmed and desiccated by the antimatter creature, a grim testament to the entity's power. The Doctor arrives too late, discovering Salamar's demise and the dangerous weapon now in the entity's possession. A chilling revelation follows: the neutron accelerator, instead of destroying Sorenson, has amplified his antimatter energy, causing the creature to multiply into multiple 'Antimen,' significantly escalating the threat. These duplicates begin systematically breaching the ship's defenses, attacking the solarium chamber and overwhelming crew leader Ranjit and his men, bringing the probe to the brink of collapse. With the ship accelerating uncontrollably towards Zeta Minor and only minutes remaining before impact, the situation appears hopeless. Vishinsky reports the dwindling crew numbers and the rapidly approaching deadline. In this critical moment, the Doctor formulates a desperate, high-stakes plan. He instructs Sarah to remain with Vishinsky to defend the command area, while he ventures out alone, using the antimatter container as a shield, to directly confront and capture the original Sorenson, believing this is the only way to halt the proliferation of the Antimen and save the probe from destruction. This act culminates in the Doctor's successful, if perilous, capture of Sorenson, whom he drags into the TARDIS, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the encroaching doom.

Act 3

The final act begins with the space probe in its most perilous state, mere minutes from catastrophic impact with Zeta Minor, as the multiple Antimen continue their relentless assault, breaching the command area's defenses. Vishinsky and Sarah, under immense pressure, scramble to deploy forcefield equipment in a desperate attempt to create a last line of defense, battling against the encroaching antimatter creatures. Concurrently, within the TARDIS, the captured Sorenson, now completely devolved, begins to break free from his restraints, posing an immediate threat to the Doctor. The Doctor, having landed the TARDIS on the surface of Zeta Minor, strategically lures Sorenson out to a volatile rock pool. In a climactic struggle, the Doctor finally topples Sorenson into a deep hole and then throws the antimatter canister in after him, effectively neutralizing the original source of the antimatter infection. This decisive action has an immediate and profound effect: the Antimen aboard the probe vanish instantly, and the ship, miraculously, ceases its descent, then begins to ascend, pulling away from the planet's surface. The Doctor returns to the rock pool, where a normal, human Sorenson now lies, dazed and confused but free from the antimatter's influence. He brings Sorenson back to the probe, subtly guiding his memory away from the dangerous antimatter research towards a safer, kinetic energy project. With the threat eliminated, the ship saved, and Sorenson restored, the Doctor and Sarah bid farewell to Vishinsky, leaving the crew to continue their journey while they depart for their next adventure, concluding the harrowing ordeal with a sense of relief and resolution.
