Act 1

Sarah regains her sight in Solon's laboratory, immediately confronting the monstrous Morbius, a creature animated by Solon's twisted experiments, on a rampage. Morbius, still unstable, accidentally ignites a chemical, causing a fire and further destruction before escaping the lab. The Doctor, having recovered from his earlier ordeal, quickly realizes the gravity of the situation, recognizing Morbius' brain as the core threat and Solon's ambition as the enabler. He resolves to stop Solon. Morbius' uncontrolled fury escalates when he attacks Solon, proving impervious to his creator's commands, then brutally kills Condo, a loyal servant, in the parlour while Sarah watches in horror. This act of violence solidifies Morbius' danger and forces the Doctor and Solon into an uneasy alliance. Their hunt for Morbius leads them to the rocks, where Morbius claims another victim, Sister Kelia, confirming his destructive instincts and deep-seated hatred for the Sisterhood. The Doctor and Solon eventually corner Morbius, with Solon tranquilizing him using a dart gun. The Doctor, appalled by Morbius' actions and the abomination Solon created, insists that the brain must be immediately disconnected. He believes this to be the only way to prevent further catastrophe, setting a clear boundary for Solon and establishing the Doctor's firm resolve against Solon's continued experiments, marking a shift from pursuit to containment.

Act 2

Following Morbius' capture, the Doctor compels Solon to begin the process of disconnecting the Time Lord's brain, aiming to end the abominable experiment permanently. However, Solon, still consumed by his ambition to fully resurrect Morbius, betrays the Doctor. He locks the Doctor and Sarah in the basement, intending to complete the operation unimpeded. Simultaneously, the Sisterhood learns of Kelia's death and the Doctor's theory about Morbius' brain, prompting a debate among them about their responsibility to intervene. Trapped and facing a renewed threat, the Doctor quickly devises a desperate plan to create cyanogen gas from chemicals found in the basement. He hopes this will incapacitate Morbius and Solon. The plan, though ingenious, proves only partially effective; the gas affects Solon, but Morbius, equipped with enhanced lungs, survives and confronts the Doctor and Sarah. Morbius, now fully revived and aware, reveals his grand ambitions for galactic conquest, fueled by revenge against the Time Lords and the Sisterhood. Faced with this overwhelming power, the Doctor, unable to defeat Morbius physically, challenges him to a mind-bending contest, a perilous mental duel of Time Lord origin. This high-stakes intellectual battle becomes the final, desperate gamble to stop Morbius. During the intense psychic confrontation, the Doctor's mind displays his past incarnations, pushing Morbius to his limits. The contest culminates in Morbius' braincase smoking and him staggering away, seemingly defeated, but the Doctor collapses, apparently dying from the strain.

Act 3

The Doctor lies gravely injured and seemingly dying after his intense mind-bending contest with Morbius, leaving Sarah distraught and fearing the worst. As the Doctor's life hangs in the balance, the Sisterhood, now fully mobilized under Ohica's leadership, converges on Morbius. They drive the weakened but still dangerous creature up the treacherous rocks and over a cliff, ensuring his final destruction. Back in the basement, Ohica discovers the unconscious Doctor and Sarah. Sarah confirms the Doctor's critical condition. In the Shrine, Maren, the High One of the Sisterhood, recognizing the Doctor's sacrifice and the dire need, makes a profound choice. She enters the Sacred Flame, sacrificing her own life to generate the potent Elixir of Life, the only substance capable of saving the Doctor. Ohica administers the Elixir, and the Doctor revives, his characteristic wit immediately returning despite his near-death experience. He quickly learns of Morbius' destruction and Maren's selfless act. With the immediate threats resolved and the Doctor fully recovered, he and Sarah prepare for their departure. Before dematerializing in the TARDIS, the Doctor leaves Ohica with two "flash-bangs," humorously suggesting they are for "chimney trouble," a final, cryptic gesture of assistance. The TARDIS then vanishes, leaving the Sisterhood to ponder the events and the Doctor's legacy. This act brings the intense conflict to a conclusive end, highlighting themes of sacrifice, the defeat of evil, and the Doctor's enduring role as a protector.
