Act 1

The narrative opens with a high-stakes escape as the Doctor and Sarah flee Keeler's laboratory. The Doctor swiftly neutralizes Scorby, smashing a chair over his back before seizing a gun, allowing them to escape and lock Chase inside. Almost immediately, a Krynoid tendril infects Keeler, initiating his horrifying and rapid transformation into a plant-like entity. Chase, rather than expressing alarm, views this grotesque metamorphosis as an "amazing" and "unique" scientific marvel, intent on observing and cultivating this new species for his twisted experiments. After instructing Sarah to hide in the gardens, the Doctor returns to the lab, a predictable move that leads to his capture by Scorby. Scorby, a ruthless mercenary motivated solely by Chase's substantial payments, escorts the Doctor to a chilling compost room. There, he reveals a monstrous "recycling" machine, a giant toothed crusher designed to process all organic waste into fertilizer. The Doctor is then bound and placed on a conveyor belt, destined for this gruesome grinder. Simultaneously, Sarah, concealed within the estate, witnesses Keeler's increasingly plant-like state in the cottage. A brief, unexpected diversion occurs with the arrival of Amelia Ducat, an art buyer who persistently demands payment from Chase, creating a minor distraction from the unfolding horror. This act meticulously establishes the immediate, life-threatening peril for the protagonists and underscores the chilling depths of Chase's scientific fanaticism, setting a grim stage for their struggle.

Act 2

This act plunges into the Doctor's imminent demise and Sarah's desperate attempt at rescue. The Doctor, tied to the conveyor belt, faces the churning blades of the compost grinder, as Chase chillingly details his "recycling" process and the agonizing death awaiting him. Sarah bursts into the room, and in a moment of panic, initially speeds up the conveyor before correcting her mistake and leaping onto the belt to untie him. Their narrow escape is punctuated by the Doctor's characteristic wit. Meanwhile, Amelia Ducat, having left the estate, meets Sir Colin Thackeray and Dunbar, relaying Sarah's urgent message about the trapped Doctor and the pod. Dunbar, feeling a profound sense of responsibility for his past "mistake," insists on returning to the estate alone to intervene. Back at the estate, Keeler's transformation reaches its horrifying completion; he becomes a full Krynoid, breaking free from his restraints and terrifying Hargreaves. Dunbar confronts Chase in the library, demanding an end to the "abomination," but Chase remains unyielding, declaring his intent to cultivate the Krynoid. Hargreaves' panicked report confirms the Krynoid's escape, escalating the threat. Dunbar, realizing the full extent of Chase's madness and the danger, pulls a gun, determined to seek external help, setting up a frantic chase.

Act 3

The final act of this segment erupts with the Krynoid's full rampage and the protagonists' desperate scramble for survival and a means to fight back. Having fully transformed, Keeler, now a monstrous Krynoid, violently breaks free from the cottage, leaving Hargreaves terrified and fleeing. The Doctor and Sarah, having just escaped the compost grinder, discover the Krynoid's absence from the cottage, realizing the immense danger of a fully mobile, plant-creature loose on the estate. Simultaneously, Dunbar, having pulled a gun on Chase, makes his own desperate escape from the library, pursued by Scorby through the estate's complex courtyards and outbuildings. The Krynoid's freedom elevates the stakes dramatically, transforming the confined threat into an immediate, widespread peril across Chase's grounds. The Doctor, understanding the gravity of the situation and the need for immediate defense, arms himself with a sword from over the cottage fireplace, signaling a decisive shift from evasion to direct confrontation. This act culminates in a heightened state of emergency, with the Krynoid unleashed, Dunbar seeking help, and the Doctor and Sarah preparing to face the monstrous creation, leaving the audience on a sharp cliffhanger as the battle for the estate and potentially the world begins.
