Act 1

Davros awakens from his long slumber, immediately demanding to know the whereabouts of his Daleks. The Doctor, encountering Davros, expresses his hope that Davros was dead, highlighting their long-standing animosity. The Doctor attempts to remove Davros from the area, pushing him through rubble as Daleks close in, systematically searching for their creator. Romana and Tyssan assist the Doctor in clearing a path, but Tyssan soon reports that Daleks have surrounded their position, effectively boxing them in. The trio takes refuge in a makeshift bunker, where the Doctor quickly dispatches Romana and Tyssan to seek assistance from the Movellan spaceship, emphasizing the urgency of getting Davros away from the Daleks. While awaiting their return, the Doctor engages Davros in conversation, attempting to glean information about his plans and the Daleks' renewed interest in him. Davros, unyielding, boasts of his immortality and his grand scheme for universal domination, dismissing the Doctor's efforts to alter destiny. He reveals his intention to equip the Daleks with new, devastating weaponry and universal knowledge, believing they still need him despite having abandoned him centuries ago. Meanwhile, a Movellan spacecraft identifies Davros, processing his data to determine a strategy, indicating their own vested interest. A Dalek patrol discovers the bunker's location, leading to the first direct confrontation. The Daleks blast down the barricade, demanding surrender and threatening extermination, forcing the Doctor into immediate, high-stakes action. This confrontation shifts the narrative from evasion and information gathering to direct conflict. The Doctor, now cornered, must leverage his ingenuity to survive and protect Davros, albeit reluctantly, from his own creations.

Act 2

With the Daleks breaching the bunker, the Doctor quickly adapts, using Davros as a human shield and threatening to detonate an explosive device attached to Davros's life support. He leverages this precarious advantage to negotiate the release of the enslaved alien workers, demonstrating his moral compass even in dire circumstances. Despite the Daleks' initial refusal, Davros intervenes, commanding them to agree to the Doctor's terms, recognizing the Doctor's "irrational sentiment" as a genuine threat to his own existence. The Doctor then escapes the bunker, seemingly detonating the device, but the Daleks swiftly remove the explosive, allowing Davros to survive. Davros, now free and reunited with his Daleks, immediately asserts his authority, declaring his intent to perfect the Daleks and ensure their invincible rule over the universe, marking a significant victory for the antagonist. Simultaneously, Romana reaches the Movellan spacecraft, only to be captured by Sharrel and Agella, who reveal their true, hostile intentions. They plan to use a "Nova device" to destroy the planet and capture the Doctor, exposing the Movellans as a new, equally dangerous threat. The Doctor, having escaped the bunker, discovers a Kaled mutant, realizing the Daleks' true purpose for Davros: to provide organic components for their evolution. He and Tyssan are then confronted by Movellans, whom the Doctor quickly deduces are also robots, further complicating the web of alliances and antagonisms. The Movellans capture the Doctor and Tyssan, demonstrating the devastating power of their Nova device, which can incinerate a planet's atmosphere. The narrative ends with the Movellans actively hunting the Doctor, now their "new objective," escalating the stakes dramatically as the Doctor finds himself trapped between two powerful, robotic factions, both seeking to use or destroy him.
