The device channels concentrated solar energy, temporarily incapacitating the Warrior and creating a brief window for the Doctor to act. However, its use is cut short when Slaar and reinforcements arrive, forcing the Doctor to surrender. Slaar orders its destruction, symbolizing the Ice Warriors’ suppression of any resistance—even makeshift weapons—and their dominance over the Moonbase’s technology.
