The TARDIS Console Power Lines overload during the crisis, sparking and rupturing as the systems fail. This overload contributes to the toxic mercury gas leak and the destabilization of the fluid link, accelerating the TARDIS’s collapse. The power lines’ failure is a cascading event that amplifies the danger, forcing the Doctor and Jamie to act with urgency to avoid being trapped in the collapsing ship.
