Object
Yates' Service Revolver
Standard-issue sidearm carried by Captain Mike Yates throughout multiple Doctor Who episodes. In Terror of the Autons Part 3, Yates draws this revolver from his holster in the UNIT laboratory and fires multiple rounds point-blank at a Nestene-controlled Auton doll, shattering its plastic body. In The Daemons Part 3 and Part 5, Yates uses the revolver to resist threats: firing skyward at an escaping UNIT helicopter (futilely) and attempting to halt Bok's advance during the Master's ritual (also futile, as the bullets ricochet off Bok's stone-hard body). The weapon's limitations against supernatural threats highlight human vulnerability in these narratives.
