Doctor's Handkerchief (Used to Block Gas Nozzle)

The Doctor's handkerchief is a simple linen cloth that emerges as an essential implement in periods of exigency. Its first recorded tactical use came when the Doctor jammed it into a Chameleon Tours gas nozzle inside the hangar, allowing him to neutralize Spencer's deadly trap with quick improvisation. By the time of the Second Doctor's adventures it transformed into a versatile field medic's tool; he dipped it in water to relieve Sorba's bruises deep within a mine shaft, and later tore and knotted it as a makeshift splint for Thara's leg inside the Dalek city. In his final incarnation it resumed a diagnostic role, held to an air-conditioning grille to confirm residual power in Stewart's stricken control room. Across these decades—through gas attacks, mining accidents, scientific crises, and reactor melts—the fabric remains constant, its fibres absorbing nerve agents, cooling burns, staunching blood, and ultimately verifying life where systems appear dead.
