Ian's Fake Micro-Key

Ian hands Yartek this counterfeit micro-key as a deception during the confrontation over the stolen Conscience machine. Altos exposes its hidden explosives, rigged to detonate the machine and collapse the building if inserted. The Doctor demands its destruction in the cell, igniting panic and a desperate escape. Susan and companions reel from the revelation of Ian's secret ploy. Later, outside the TARDIS, Ian entrusts the still-intact fake key to the Doctor amid farewells to Altos and Sabetha.
