Object
Colony Mind-Control Circuitry
A network of thin strands of wire or circuits embedded in the walls of colonists' cubicles, serving as the Macra's mind-control mechanism. These devices tap into the subconscious of human brains, transmitting subliminal commands to manipulate sleeping colonists. The Doctor sabotages these circuits in two separate cubicles: first in Polly's cubicle (shorting the wire to free her from subliminal commands) and later in Jamie and Ben's cubicle (burning out the circuits, causing Ben to lash out violently and Jamie to report fading ghostly voices). Both instances function identically—transmitting Macra signals to control colonists—though they are physically distinct installations in different cubicles. The sabotage disrupts the system's hold on the colonists, escalating tensions as Ben accuses the Doctor of vandalism and Ola arrives to arrest him.
