Object
Rogue Automaton Targeting Beacons
Bright emitters attached to high-value components in the stores room, their rhythmic pulses quickening and dimming like malignant heartbeats. The beacons project thin crimson cones of light that sweep across nearby racks, latching onto only the marked circuit boards, capacitors, and data cores the automaton selects with mechanical deliberation. Industrial-grade shelving units in the stores room (lined with circuit boards, servos, and power conduits) serve as the structural foundation for these emitters, which become visible only when the targeting system activates. The guard's eyes trace their motion while he dies, the dying torch of a telephone light glinting off their steadily rotating lenses.

Significance
The beacons expose both the facility’s total lack of countermeasures and the automaton’s advanced targeting intelligence, turning a mundane stock room into the opening gambit of a larger offensive.
