Sarah's earlier discovery that electricity harms Wirrn creatures enables this improvised but decisive countermeasure.

UNIT Fission Guns fire repeatedly against the larva, each shot impacting the gelatinous tissue yet failing to neutralize it immediately, their recoil kicking back against the operators before the creature retreats.

Used by the Doctor and Sarah to stabilize the Doctor’s consciousness during his mental struggle with the Wirrn larva, these electrodes become a tactical hindrance that Sarah removes quickly to clear his focus for the transmat operation.
