Object
Captain Hawkins' Standard-Issue Pistol
A standard-issue UNIT sidearm belonging to Captain Hawkins, used in multiple engagements against the Silurians. In Doctor Who and The Silurians Part 2, Hawkins conceals himself in the research centre reception and draws this pistol to fire at advancing Silurians, provoking retaliation that results in his death. Earlier, in Doctor Who and The Silurians Part 7, Hawkins draws the same weapon upon exiting the lift and discovering Private Upton’s mutilated body, gripping it tightly as he confronts the Silurian breach. The pistol’s use spans both cave reconnaissance and direct confrontation, reflecting its role as a staple of UNIT operations against reptilian threats.
