Barbara inflated its flat tire with a foot pump, transforming it from a static exhibit into a functional mode of transport, while Jenny verified the engine's partial operability under dim lighting. What was once discarded refuse storage became a fragile lifeline, bearing the weight of survival as two travelers weighed silence against speed to flee occupied territory.
