The ventilation grille becomes a spycraft device in Mel’s hands. She removes a section to position the aerobics headset’s microphone directly into the shaft, transforming an institutional utility into a surveillance portal. The louvered grille, rusted and partially obscured, enables secretive listening but also offers concealment for the unseen assailant’s approach.
