Captain Zanak's Execution Parrot (Functional/Non-functional States)
A small mechanical bird with garish blue and red plastic feathers, originally designed as Captain Zanak's preferred method of punishment. When functional, it perches inert on the bridge's metal surfaces, its single red LED eye blinking once when activated, its beak snapping open to kill with mechanical precision. The crudely designed device contrasts sharply with the sterile metal surfaces of the bridge, amplifying the artificial terror underpinning Zanak's regime. Later, the parrot's functionality degrades under Xanxia's violent regime, becoming a 'Non-functioning Parrot'—its painted feathers chipped and tarnished, beak frozen in a squawk, one glass eye cracked. Both states represent the same mechanical parrot entity, with its operational status changing across narrative events.
