The sonic disrupter, initially an alien device repurposed for Terileptil control, is modified by Nyssa in the TARDIS console room. She splices it with jury-rigged wiring connected to the power cable, transforming it into a tool capable of disrupting the Terileptils' android harvester and halting their deadly harvest. This adaptation bridges the TARDIS’s technical capacity with the immediate threat to London.

Nyssa wields the Terileptil sonic disrupter as a weapon, directing its harmonic vibrations toward the android’s rigid frame. The device’s resonant energy tears through the bedroom, sending plaster raining from walls and rattling the dressing table. Its raw destructive power is proven before Nyssa switches it off, confirming its tactical potential.

Nyssa wears the industrial headphones to shield her ears from the disrupter’s violent oscillations. Their thick padding compresses slightly as she clamps them on before firing the device. The stress briefly creaks their frame under the resonant fury, but they remain intact, containing the acoustic violence.
