Urbankan Reasoning Chip

A compact silicon device no larger than a fingernail, etched with neural pathways capable of storing entire consciousnesses. Variously described as disc-like or rectangular with a metallic sheen, the chip's primary function is to house encoded neural patterns of Urbankan citizens in series arrangements. Each chip glows faintly with stored information, and billions populate Monarch's silicon duplicates—the hollow vessels replacing Urbankans—where they enable the cold, precise replication of individual personalities under the invaders' control. Tegan’s recoil at Bigon’s revelation reflects recognition of this architecture as the core of the abomination, where spirit is overwritten by logic encoded in circuitry. This description applies equally to both the individual reasoning chips and the collective known as 'Nine Billion Silicon Chips', which are simply the mass aggregation of these identical units.
