Military Jets' Missiles

Two air-to-surface missiles streak from the undersides of military jets toward the nuclear reactor, their exhaust trails glowing hot against the evening sky. The weapons are standard kinetic projectiles—streamlined metal cylinders with flared fins for stabilization, designed for maximum kinetic impact on target. Watson and Sarah watch with tense anticipation, their military instincts primed for the explosion, but the projectiles lose velocity without detonation as Eldrad's power absorbs their energy, leaving them inert and unexploded in midair.
