Its matte-black struts show scuffs from impromptu handling—particularly when Peri Brown's hands close around it—and the hub creaks slightly during operation. The integrated components include a concealed transmitter channeling lethal ultrasonic pulses as a covert assassination tool, and a deceptive display screen mounted on the studio’s recording equipment rack showing manipulated transmission metrics with shifting waveforms matching the activation sequence. Its lethal payload is armed while presenting mundane studio operations, transforming the studio from a neutral communication hub into a death trap when activated. The true nature of the device—and its transformation from background fixture to instrument of extermination—only becomes apparent when White Dalek forces storm the studio.
