Particle Analyser Shackles

Heavy metal restraints bolted to the platform hold Leela fast as the Particle Analyser’s red death-beam advances. The shackles’ cold links clamp her wrists and ankles, their finish marred by flecks of older flakes—the marks of prior victims. When the Doctor uses the mirror to overload the machine, the sudden surge of released energy flings the shackles open, their clamps springing free as the analyser shatters in a pulse of crimson light.
