Grotesque Specimen Display Cabinet
A tall glass-fronted cabinet crammed into the attic's narrow spaces, its shelves crowded with the preserved remnants of Josiah's experiments. The cabinet contains three key elements: 1) Reverend Matthews' desiccated figure mounted as a chimpanzee with zombie-like tendrils seeping from its mouth while grasping a rotting banana in one stiffened hand, 2) the shriveled banana specimen itself preserved within the tableau, and 3) other unspecified specimens evidenced by fluid stains. The cabinet's interior smells of aged preservatives and decay; its glass smudged where Ace's frantic breaths condense against it as she stares at the obscene tableau. A brass plaque beneath the ape's feet lists Reverend Matthews' name in peeling gilt capital letters.
