Borad’s Throne Control Pad is used by the Doctor to release Peri’s collar remotely as the Bandril missiles near impact. The pad’s proximity to the throne highlights the dictator’s central control over the vault’s systems, now manipulated to undermine his regime.

Before: Under Borad’s exclusive control; its green button pulsated as the sole visible activation point.

After: Temporarily commandeered by the Doctor; its circuitry shows signs of overheating and overloading.

Doctor frees Peri as war nears

Borad's throne control pad becomes the focal point of the Doctor's gambit when the time slip device's double presses it. The Doctor's real-time manipulation triggers the collar release mechanism, freeing Peri. The pad's activation also inadvertently engages the time-delayed red ray mechanism.

Before: Embedded in Borad's throne, under the tyrant's direct control

After: Partially disabled by Doctor's intervention, used to Peri's liberation before the collapse
