Adric’s cloak is violently torn from his back by the android during the struggle, its shredded fabric caught between the android’s grip and Adric’s collapsing form. The cloak’s loss symbolizes the abrupt destruction of the companions’ tentative safety and camaraderie outside the TARDIS.
