Shiny Ball

A reflective spherical device, slick and weightless in the Master’s grip, its mirrored surface catching flickers of light as it arcs unnaturally through the air. The Cheetahs fixate on its movement, instincts overriding their usual controlled menace—drawing them into a coordinated, almost playful rush toward its landing point. Paterson ducks instinctively as it clatters near his boots, the interruption breaking the Master’s carefully orchestrated terror.

The Master employs the shiny ball as a tool of psychological warfare, hurling it with precision to redirect the Cheetahs’ predatory instincts away from himself and toward Paterson. The ball’s unnatural light-catching movement lures the predators into a coordinated rush that encircles their intended prey.

Before: The shiny ball is held firmly in the Master’s hand, untouched and highly polished.
After: The shiny ball lies abandoned in the mud near Paterson’s feet, its surface already smeared with paw prints and dirt as the Cheetahs jostle over it.

Doctor's dangerous ploy fails against Master

The Doctor seizes the reflective spheres from the Master’s pockets and uses them both as projectiles and lures, tossing them into the air and over his shoulders in hopes of distracting the Cheetahs. The objects draw momentary focus from the predators before the Master reclaims control of their instincts.

The shiny balls are snatched by the Doctor and hurled between the Cheetahs, drawing their attention away from Paterson. Initially a tool to enforce the Master’s control, the objects become an accidental catalyst for revolt as the Cheetahs revert to instinctual focus, disregarding the Master entirely.

Before: Held by the Master, prepared for use as a distraction tool while Paterson remained the Cheetahs’ prey.
After: Scattered and abandoned by the Cheetahs, their function as control devices rendered meaningless.
