Gallifreyan Alien Tome
A sentient, leather-bound Gallifreyan codex pulsing with temporally distorted script. Its pages reverse time when Parsons attempts to read, its cover slams shut against probing fingers, and any physical contact triggers cascading temporal anomalies. The tome resists examination through sheer antagonistic will, its leather etched with Gallifreyan sigils that shift under observation. It emits faint whispers when undisturbed, forming partial phrases in a language that raises hairs on the neck. Both Chronotis and the Doctor recognize the danger it poses immediately upon its mention, though Chronotis downplays its lethality as 'just a book,' while the Doctor's unease grows visible through his questions. Its physical presence in plainclothes disrupts the order of Chronotis’ rooms. Parsons wields a scalpel against it, but the blade itself dodges the book's defenses.
