The hay bales serve as improvised cover for Arrex and Callon as they flank Delta’s position. When the sonic scream erupts, the shockwave causes the bales to crumble and release fragments of hay, exposing the fugitives and making the cottage interior vulnerable to further attack.

Before: Stacked and offering concealment to Bannermen scouts positioned behind them.

After: Partially collapsed and scattered due to the sonic shockwave, failing their protective purpose and exposing the interior of the cottage.
