Courtyard External Staircase

The wide stone staircase ascends from the courtyard to the upper levels of the war-torn complex, its steps worn smooth by decades of use. The masonry shows faint light discoloration where water seeps through cracks, the treads pocked with chips from stray plasma fire during the skirmish. The Doctor sprints past it toward the Doctor, leaving the Valeyard and Master’s duel of illusions to rage behind him, their combatant energies leaving thin air trembling in their wake. Glitz scrambles across its lower steps, his boots clicking sharply against stone as he flinches from an explosion that sends fragments clattering down the risers.
