Tegan wedges the maintenance hatch open with metal prongs to force airflow, while Turlough secures the grill by pressing corner latches after entry. The thin walls of secondary components vibrate underfoot and betray noxious gas leaks when disturbed, representing the colony's crumbling infrastructure.
