President's Corpse

The President's corpse lies still in the Panopticon Vault, its limbs arranged in unnatural repose. The body wears the ceremonial robes of office, now creased with the violence of its end. Rigor has not yet set in, the face slack and unseeing. Drops of blood darken the carpet beneath the head, pooling where the fatal shot entered. Engin kneels beside it, fingers trembling as he peels the Sash of Rassilon from its shoulders—only to surrender the relic to the Master moments later.

Master claims the Sash of Rassilon

The President’s corpse lies in repose, its ceremonial robes creased and bloodied from the fatal shot. Engin, under duress, strips the Sash from the corpse’s shoulders and hands it to the Master, making the corpse a temporary altar of perceived authority being defiled.

Before: Dead, in state repose on the vault floor, wearing presidential regalia.
After: Sash removed, corpse exposed; no longer serving as vessel for the Sash.
