The gas hob under the poker reaches dangerous temperatures, turning a mundane stovetop into a risk multiplier. Its blue-white flame intensifies when the poker lies across it, shimmering waves of heat radiating upward. The hob’s industrial strength allows the poker to glow red and, eventually, when the oven door opens, vents additional gas that ignites into an enormous flame erupting toward the ceiling.
