Object

Sir Gilles and Hugh's Lances

Tall ashwood lances polished to a dull sheen, each fitted with steel tips crudely forged for tournament use. They measure twice the height of their wielders, mounted rigidly in iron brackets on the knights’ right flanks. The wood shows faint rings from seasoned growth and bears small gouges from past clashes, while the metal tips are blunted but rigid enough to deliver bruising force. Sir Gilles and Hugh grip them in silence, their armored gauntlets locking the shafts in place as they prepare to ride.
