Portreeve's Chandelier

A wrought-iron ceiling fixture serving as both an architectural lighting mount and an improvised emergency tool in Portreeve’s house. The chandelier features a looped iron frame supporting several unlit candles, with its lower edge dangling close enough to the floor for Shardovan to reach. He uses it as a swinging pivot point—first hooking the fixture with a candle snuffer to trapeze into the Master’s energy web and free Adric, and later as a weight-driven launching mechanism to attack the energy threads. The fixture’s metal groans and collapses under sudden, violent stress during Shardovan’s desperate maneuvers, echoing through the room as both distraction and tool.
