Jago’s panicked command to drop the curtain weaponizes it into a barrier of ignorance, reinforcing the theatre’s front of normalcy while actively suppressing the truth of Casey’s murder.

The heavy Theatre Curtain is weaponized by Jago’s order, dropped abruptly to conceal Casey’s corpse and Chang’s escape from the audience’s view, transforming its normal purpose into a shield against horror.

The heavy velvet curtain hangs by the long case clock, serving as concealment for the Master’s wizened hand and later his face. Its red folds pool on the floor, adding to the opulent yet sinister atmosphere of the museum. The curtain’s brief, unnatural movement reveals the Master’s presence, transforming from static drapery to a medium of revelation.

The museum curtain, heavy and crimson, serves as both concealment and revelation. Initially obscuring the clock’s inner mechanism, it is forcibly parted by a skeletal hand—exposing the Master’s gaze and enabling his mocking invasion of the Capitol’s ceremonial space. Its displacement marks the collapse of institutional privacy.
