The Spatial Distribution Circuits provide the Doctor’s primary misdirection; he claims they are switched in to optimize packing efficiency (a lie) but functionally they strand TARDIS components across space. The Gravis’s obsession with operating the circuits keeps him distracted while the Doctor observes how his absorption unfolds.

Before: Frayed and visibly separated, broadcasting erratic spatial energy across the console.

After: Remain exposed and unstable, their instability now augmented by the Gravis’s engagement.
