A pistol captured in the quarry is fired by Indiana at pursuing Thuggee cultists during the mine cart chase. After Indy runs out of bullets, he tosses the pistol, hitting a Thuggee in the head. Another cultist retrieves it, reloads, and fires back at Indy. The pistol’s reuse by the enemy highlights the chaos and desperation of the chase, as even the trio’s own weapons are turned against them.
