Oji is a Mintakan adolescent entrusted with the community’s memorial duties as the newly designated recordkeeper. She serves as Liko’s daughter and closest witness during a disruptive encounter with advanced visitors, observing the duck blind’s dematerialization, her father’s injury and later inexplicable healing. Oji balances duty to ritual measurement with sharp curiosity, and her corroboration of Liko’s account—spoken publicly in the assembly—helps convert a private wonder into a communal crisis, compelling leadership and visitors to confront severe cultural contamination.
