Improvised Neutrino Pointer (VISOR–tricorder rig)

A jury‑built neutrino‑beacon detection rig cobbled from Geordi's VISOR and a hand tricorder. Braided diagnostic leads, clamp mounts, raw interface patches and two palm‑sized scanner heads (rounded glass lenses in matte alloy housings with braided cable pigtails and exposed solder joints) are rigged onto the VISOR/tricorder frame. Scorch marks, insulating tape and exposed conduit mar the assembly; tiny LEDs and tuning pots on the scanner heads flicker and emit thin beeps as Geordi adjusts tuning and Bochra holds neural contacts. Together the assembly yields directional blips and ultimately locks the beacon bearing needed for navigation and rescue.

Purpose

To serve as a crude neutrino detector/pointer by routing tricorder sensor output through the VISOR array, converting low‑signal neutrino readings into directional cues to localize a source.

Significance

Functions as the tactical linchpin that enables Geordi's rescue: the improvised tool catalyzes a moment of practical trust between prisoner and captive, transforms theory into action, and shifts agency back toward Geordi by restoring a form of perception.
