Duck Blind Metal Observation Port (Exterior Holographic Camouflage Port)

A circular metal observation/egress port built into the faux cliff face of the Mintakan duck blind: a rigid, bolted metal frame and rim—scuffed alloy ribs and riveted steel—forming a hinged hatch-sized opening. The port is sized to admit a head or larger passage, shows scorch marks and singed insulation from an electrical arc, and when the holographic camouflaging shorts out it becomes a raw visible seam that throws light and sparks into the open and exposes the hidden structure beneath.

Purpose

Structural support and interface for the duck blind's holographic camouflage system—a mounting rim and access port through which hologram emitters or maintenance probes are reached and which is electrically linked to the generator.

Significance

The frame functions as the literal, injuring proof that the hologram system is real: Liko's shock transforms abstract engineering into witnessed sacrament for Mintakans, escalates the Prime Directive dilemma, and ties Enterprise engineering's technology directly to the natives' emerging awe.
