To create a controlled pressure/flow differential within a power or fuel conduit so that regulated energy can be channeled safely toward the engine coils and associated systems.
Significance
Serves as the literal lynchpin of the emergency repair: Geordi must reroute power through this chamber to stabilize the Mondor's engine.
