Its members—coded attendants such as the water-taster Yuta, a maid, a bodyguard, technicians, and other servants—unpack luggage, perform ritualized duties (notably tasting the sovereign's water), maintain disciplined comportment, and mediate interactions between Marouk and visiting guests.
