Sentry Post Alpha-9

A cramped observation alcove jutting from the Weapons Research Centre’s outer wall, its reinforced durasteel shell pocked with sensor blisters and dim red targeting lights. The space smells of hot wiring and stale recycled air, the glow of a single flickering holoscreen casting jagged shadows across grimy permatex panels. Beyond the narrow slit window, floodlights carve the rain-slick tarmac into stark monochrome, illuminating coiled security wire and the scattered skeins of a collapsed dome section. A folding chair scrapes against bolted flooring when the sentry shifts; the only other furnishings are a pulse rifle rack and a cracked data pad mounted to the wall. Cold seeped through the walls—this outer post was never meant for long watches.
