Lighthouse Service Room

Tucked beneath the lamp room at the base of the lighthouse tower, this utilitarian chamber houses lockers and equipment racks bolted to exposed concrete walls. A single bare bulb casts long shadows over metal tool cabinets and a shelf lined with spare parts, where the faint hum of the beacon’s mechanisms drifts down through an open service hatch. The air carries the scent of aged wiring and damp concrete, broken only by the acrid tang of recent mortar fire tracked inside on boots. Two stark lockers dominate the space—one holds the Doctor’s maroon powder sealed against both human and Rutan hands, while the other conceals a dismantled Schermuly box and the crude mortar later assembled in the lamp room.
