A narrow, utilitarian corridor lined with rows of identical doors, its walls lit by flickering amber bulbs that cast long shadows against the worn metallic surfaces. The air hums with the low thrum of ventilation systems and the distant echoes of patrol boots on ferrocrete floors. Empty bunks sag slightly under thin padding, and the faint scent of antiseptic cleaner lingers despite the space’s disuse. Leela presses herself against the cold bulkhead, her breath shallow as the patrol’s voices grow louder outside. At the far end, a single shuttered window filters watery light across the deck plates, just enough to reveal the corridor’s stark confinement.
